A Journey- Interviewing Foreigners

Wahahaha.. What a great day! Rasanya hari Jumat kemaren seru banget. I have an interview with an American at Bogor Botanical Garden. Bukan sekedar interview biasa, tapi we were sharing about cultures.

Berhubung di Bogor, tempat yang paling banyak turis asingnya adalah Kebun Raya Bogor (a.k.aBogor Botanical Garden, so there we go!!!

Nah, hari Jumat kemaren itu masih tahap percobaan. Jadi saya cuma pergi berdua sama temen saya, Natasha. Kita masuk Kebun Raya sekitar jam 12.30an. Muter-muter buat nyari bule, kita juga niat nyari Bunga Bangkai tapi kita nggak ketemu.  Nggak jauh dari jembatan gantung di KRB, there’s a woman! Kita ketemu sama bule, dan dia lagi jalan sendiri, then I start the conversation. Well, she is an American her name is Rebekah Elizabeth Davis. Kita duduk dan have a great interview. She is an affable stranger for us. Sebenernya target waktu kita adalah 15-20 menit, tapi akhirnya jadi 1 jam.

Ternyata Rebekah loves travelling, Indonesia is her 14th journey. Dia memilih buat travel around Java Island. She’s been to Yogyakarta, Pangandaran, and then staying in Bogor for about 3 weeks. When we questioned her about visiting Bali, she just said “I want to visit Indonesia and see Indonesian people; if I come to Bali I will meet foreigners there, the same people with me”.

Waktu kita nanya “What do you think about Indonesian people?”  Rebekah said “Most of Indonesian people are friendly but sometimes I find a view people being rude to me. I am a tourist here and my Bahasa is not good, I just know the basic. Then if sometimes I meet people when I’m confused, sometimes they said to me ‘What are you, stupid?’ But after I meet more people, I just found about 5 people who’s being rude to me, but mostly Indonesian people are friendly” …
